Q&U Wedding
Q and U stick like glue! Our letter of the week was Q and learned all about the sound it makes with the letter U. Everyone looked so handsome and beautiful for the wedding! Thank you to the families who sent in snacks for our v-day celebration that took place on the same day.
Cheers to Q and U, and Happy Valentine's Day!
100th Day Celebration!
Can you believe we've already reached 100 days of Kindergarten?! We had so much fun celebrating this big day! Here are some of the things we did:
Thanks to the O'Brien family for sending in a 100 snack for us! It was delicious.

We wrote about what we would buy with 100 dollars. Some things we wanted were new toys, an ipad, a car and a unicorn!
We counted by 1's, 5's and 10's all the way to 100.
We used Q-tips to make 100 dots.
We worked together with our center group to make towers with 100 cups.
Lastly, we made necklaces using 100 pieces of cereal!
Thank you to the families who returned their Acts of Kindness hearts! We reached 100 acts of kindness on our tree.
Here's to the next 81 days of school!
Celebrities of the Week
Our first two Celebrities of the Week were Tyler and Maggie!
Tyler told the class he is 5, likes to eat hotdogs and play with figurines! He brought in his favorite red toy to share with his friends.
Maggie told the class she is 5, likes to eat pizza and when she isn't at school she likes to paint! She brought in her favorite stuffed animal, Bear Bear to share with the class.

January Recap
With a 10 day flu diagnosis, for Mrs. Conroy while 8.5 months pregnant, January came and went with no posts on the blog!!
Here is an overview of what we did in January!
We learned the letters U, R, N, F and E. We learned harder sight words like little, baby, went, here and said. A January check-up is going home this week so you can see which letters and sight words your child knows, and which they need to work on.
We explored Non-fiction books and learned the difference between fiction and non-fiction. We read lots of books about polar bears and penguins.
We began using our spaceman in writing to help us put spaces between our words. Meet Spaceman!
In math we introduced teen numbers! These can be tricky, so please practice at home!
Elsa's mom came to our classroom to help us learn more about Chinese New Year! She gave everyone chopsticks and an envelope with money in it! Thank you, Mrs. Toloski!

We also began Celebrity of the Week! Each child gets a turn to be student of the week. They get their picture displayed in the hallway and on Friday of their week, they get to bring in something to share!
Lastly, we had our first Mystery Reader! Hayes mom came and surprised Hayes and read to the class! If you are interested in Mystery Reader, it is not too late to contact me and I can add you to the list!
