Valentine's Day

Room 210 was full of love last week! We celebrated Valentine's Day with lots of fun projects. We decorated bags to receive valentines from our friends.

We used heart fruit snacks to sort, and add with. We also made love bugs using heart stickers. They are displayed on our bulletin board.

We made a kindness tree. It is displayed in the foyer!

Happy Valentine's Day from Room 210!!

Two Cheers for Jacob and Samara for raising over 110 dollars for Roxbury, and Romy for reading over 1,000 minutes. They were honored at our read-a-thin assembly!

100 Days Smarter!

My tots are officially 100 days smarter! We celebrated the 100th day of kindergarten with lots of fun activities. Here is a glimpse into our day.

We made 10 groups of ten with dot  markers for the 100th day hats.

We worked together using 100 cups to build something!

Thank you to the Krellenstein family, we had a delicious 100 snack.

We wrote about what we would do with 100 dollars. Some answers were buy a unicorn, a pool, a house, give one to charity or save it!

We practiced our 1:1 correspondence counting skills and counting 100 fruit loops. Then, we strengthened our fingers and strung them on a necklace.

North even made a special shirt at home for the 100th day!
We read books, counted and found time to play. What. a. Day!
Here's to the next  80 days!

Polar Animals

We have wrapped up our mini NF unit on Polar Animals. We had so much fun exploring real text with photographs, and learning all about penguins and polar bears. The adorable polar bears made their way home already, but here are the penguins we made, and the facts we wrote about polar bears.

We also did a science experiment using blubber. We took some freezing cold water and put one hand in a blubber glove, and the other hand right in the water. We wanted to see which hand we could keep in the water the longest. Our record time was 30 seconds with no blubber protecting our hands!

We decided that penguins are lucky to have that extra layer and swim in the cold, cold water!
