What's Going on in Room 210?
We have finished our Eric Carle Unit, All of our letters, mastered numbers 1-20...so what's next?!
Over the next month, these are some skills we will work on in Literacy:
Vowels- we are currently on U and have E left
Rhyming and word families- such as cat, hat, bat, rat
Blends of letters- Our books are getting harder and we are being exposed to some words with blends such as flat.
We are also working on -ing at the end of words and -ed and the 3 sounds it makes!
We will continue to work on retelling strategies and we are currently finishing up with our end of the year reading assessment. This information will be sent home soon, so you will know your child's reading score and can get just right books for over the summer!
In math, we are adding and subtracting like pros! We are also perfecting our number formation. We are still working on counting to 100 and using ten frames to help us count, add, subtract, and understand place value.
Our reading and writing unit for the remainder of the year is non-fiction and will be about living and non-living things. We will also do an ocean unit to end the year!
Looking ahead...
Vowel- U
Words- ask, how
Number of the week- 29
No school Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day.
Save the date- Field Day is Wednesday May 30th and our class color is red. More information to follow this week. Parent volunteers are needed, and parents are invited to watch the event!

Mother's Day Tea!
Thank you to all of the moms who came to our annual tea party! Here are some pictures from the celebration!
I hope you had a much deserved relaxing Mother's Day!!!
XOXOXO
Two Cheers for my Tots!
WOW- its been a while! Room 210 has been CRAZY busy with shows, tea parties, new Kindergarten orientation and finishing up with our kindergarten curriculum. Lets kick off this blog overload, with honoring my tots who finished all of their April book in bag journals!
Our last two celebrities of the week were Emma and Alexa! They both brought in stuffed animals, and they both like playing with their sisters when they're not at school!
I was SO proud of our rendition of Eric Carle's The Very Busy Spider! Thank you to all of the families who came to see us perform!
We extended our Eric Carle Author Study Unit and used his techniques to make an art project for the STEAMfest.
We observed, painted, added texture and we created animals, objects and settings out of the colorful collage of paint!
Our finished products were displayed in the cafeteria at STEAMFest, and are now on our bulletin board!
