Recap of the Week!
It was our first full week of school and it was jam packed with lots of fun stuff!
We learned how to use liquid glue without making a mess. "Just a dot, not a lot!
We practiced making small dots on our special glue paper.

We practiced making small dots on our special glue paper.
Now we are ready to use liquid glue to make different projects throughout the year!
During center time, we practiced writing our name with the correct letter formation. First we built it with magnetic letters and then we got to use dry erase markers!
This was also the first week we opened the writing center! Each week I fill the writing center with new activities. This week was free draw, writing September words and tracing pages for letter C and A.
We also kicked off our apple week! Thank you to the Campo family for sending in applesauce for the class.
We read non-fiction books about apples and learned what labeling a picture meant. You may have seen the labeled apple page in your child's folder.
Apple week is continuing into next week. If you are interested in sending in apple snacks for the class such as apple cider, apple munchkin doughnuts, or mini apple pies, please send me an email at rtenk@stamfordct.gov.
Looking ahead...

Short and Sweet Week!
Our three day week flew by, but we got a lot done in Room 210! We finished our classroom rules, signed the list, and shared it with the entire kindergarten and first grade. Thank you to Isabella and Jacob for being brave and holding the sign up to represent our class!
We have spent the first 9 days reviewing daily routines, transitions and class expectations. With three full days in a row (finally!) my tots are ready to roll! We began to explore books and found quiet spots around the room. Check us out!!
Next week, each child will receive their very own book bin where they can keep books they like to browse and read for the week! We will "shop" for books weekly in our classroom library.
On Friday afternoon we took some time out to have "Fine Motor Fun Friday". We ripped paper to strengthen those fingers!! We used the ripped paper to outline the first letter of names. They did a fabulous job!
Looking Ahead...

What's Happenin' in Room 210?!
We have had an interesting start to our school year with 3 half days and 3 full days, but we are starting to get adjusted to our schedule.
We have spent a lot of time working on routines like lining up, finding our carpet spots and learning to greet one each other every morning!
We have read the following David books to create our own classroom rules:

We made a list of bad choices and good choices which we will turn into a list of rules to follow.

Reminders
We are going to have another hot week! Please send a reusable water bottle to school with your child.
We have lunch at 11:30 and an afternoon snack. There was some confusion the first two days, and children were eating their lunch and snack at 11:30, and had nothing left for our 2:15 snack.
In order for this not to happen, I am asking that parents send a snack specifically labeled, "SNACK" on it so there is no confusion. Even if you buy lunch at school, I am asking that you send a healthy snack from home.
Also, for the first two months of school we rest after lunch. Please provide your child with a blanket or towel to lay on.
If there are any questions, please feel free to email me at rtenk@stamfordct.gov
