Looking Back on Our Week!

This week was all about nocturnal animals! We read nonfiction and fiction stories about animals that come out at night! We focused most of our time on bats and owls. We read the story, Stellaluna and wrote about a time we felt like worried like Stellaluna. On Friday, we read Owl Babies. We discussed the three ways you can read a book, using the pictures, reading the words or retelling the story to someone else!

We used our first graphic organizer to retell the story of Owl Babies!

After our hard work of retelling the story, it was time to make an owl. (This is one of my favorite projects my tots do!)
First, we painted.

Next can the feathers, eyes, beaks, claws and ears!

You'll have to swing by to see our finished products sitting in our tree outside our classroom!

In Math, it was all about shapes and the numbers 3 and 4!
We used triangles and circles to make bats. We also explored other shapes like rectangles and squares to make our very own pictures! We made race cars, unicorns, houses, flowers and people!

And... of course we found time to read to self and with someone!

Two Cheers for my tots Alessia, Rhys and Christopher (not photographed :))who were caught being kind!

Looking ahead...
