The Halloween parade will take place on Monday at 2:00 inside Roxbury. Parents are invited to view the parade in the cafeteria or the auditorium.
If you signed up to send something in for the party, please send it to school with your child or drop it off before 11:00.
Please DO NOT send your child to school in their costume. Have your child bring their costume to school, and we will change after lunch.
We also have a field trip on Wednesday. Please dress your child warm, the trip is outside! Your child will need a bagged lunch for the trip, and please no glass containers.
I look forward to seeing you all at the parade!

We used all sorts of shapes to make our very own jack-o-lantern!!

Looking Back on Our Week!
This week was all about nocturnal animals! We read nonfiction and fiction stories about animals that come out at night! We focused most of our time on bats and owls. We read the story, Stellaluna and wrote about a time we felt like worried like Stellaluna. On Friday, we read Owl Babies. We discussed the three ways you can read a book, using the pictures, reading the words or retelling the story to someone else!
Next can the feathers, eyes, beaks, claws and ears!
We used our first graphic organizer to retell the story of Owl Babies!
After our hard work of retelling the story, it was time to make an owl. (This is one of my favorite projects my tots do!)
First, we painted.
Next can the feathers, eyes, beaks, claws and ears!
You'll have to swing by to see our finished products sitting in our tree outside our classroom!
In Math, it was all about shapes and the numbers 3 and 4!
We used triangles and circles to make bats. We also explored other shapes like rectangles and squares to make our very own pictures! We made race cars, unicorns, houses, flowers and people!
And... of course we found time to read to self and with someone!
Two Cheers for my tots Alessia, Rhys and Christopher (not photographed :))who were caught being kind!
Looking ahead...
