A Look Back On Our Week!

We were well-rested and full of energy when we returned to school after our 9 days off! We picked up right where we left off before the break, and got right to it.

In Reader's & Writer's  Workshop we continued our unit on money. We read books about earning, spending and saving money. We made a graph of what we would do with our own money.

Then,we used our graph as a writing prompt! Here is some of the "Rox" Star writing that was done!
Ashley would donate her money to kids who don't have any! :)

Rebecca would save her money for food, shelter and clothes!

Steffany would save her money to buy new Play-Doh!

We also cleaned out our book bins and made more room for Just Right Books! We found a cozy spot, and dove right in to our new  selection of books.

In math we continued to work on coins and money. We also reviewed addition and subtraction, and started to learn about place value.

We were super busy getting ready for our performance on Wednesday, April 20th at 9:10, 10:15 and 11:40. You don't want to miss it!

Even with all of this fabulous learning and practice of our song, we made sure to enjoy the warm weather!

Looking ahead...

Letter Sounds: Vowel teams/ silent E
Sight words: stop, did
***I sent home an updated sight word assessment. Please review the words they missed. You may also get a jump start on the last 11 words from the kindergarten list.***

Lastly, a letter went home this week informing you that April is Autism Awareness Month. Our performance on Wednesday is all about friendship, and this ties in perfectly with Autism Awareness Month.  In honor of this special month,We have asked that you send your child to school on Wednesday wearing either RED, BLUE or YELLOW.

Enjoy this gorgeous weather!
