Looking Back At Our Week

We are working SO hard for our play that is this Friday at 10:00. Please continue to practice with your child and remind them to use their big, strong voice!!

On Monday, we had a volunteer from Business for Books who read to our class.

We also focused on reading to self. We worked really hard to choose a spot and stay there! We have come SO far with our reading skills and am proud of all of my tots!

We had our first session of Junior Achievement ,where our room mom, Mrs. Diaz came in to teach the class about making choices.

On Friday, Mariely brought in something to share with her friends. She told the class that she is 5, her favorite food is pizza and she loves to play with Play-Doh. Here she is with her Peppa Pig stuffed animals!

The Latest From Room 210

We are LOVING our Author Study Unit on Eric Carle. We've read many books, examined his illustrations, discussed characters, setting, repetitive language and did a directed drawing to draw characters from his stories. Now we are working so hard to remember our lines and get ready for the BIG play on Friday, May 4th at 10:00.

I'm sure you've noticed... but my tots are reading! They are blending and rhyming words like they are first graders. I am so proud of the growth they are making and how hard they are trying to become better readers. We will continue to focus on word families and vowels till the end of the year.

In math we've been spending a lot of time on Andy Addition and his friend, Susie Subtraction.

I've also introduced a number line. We learned you can use a number line to help you with adding and subtracting. Ask your tot about it! :)

More exciting news...our helper of the day just got a new free choice activity, painting! As if it wasn't exciting enough to be the helper of the day, it just got that much better. We are so lucky to have this easel which was funded through our Donor's Choose project!

Q and U Stick Like Glue!

Sorry for the delayed photos from the BIG DAY! I was having technical difficulties with my laptop, but  it is all fixed!

On Friday, March 23rd we celebrated the marriage of letters Q and U. My tots looked so handsome and beautiful for the big day. We were joined by Ms. Ramirez's class and our pre-k friends from Mrs. Barford's class were the guest!

We all got a turn to walk down the aisle holding their very own Q and U's.

The ceremony was followed by yummy cupcakes, and heart cookies from our very own room moms! Thank you to the Diaz family for sending in cookies to celebrate my engagement and the Farson family for sending in ring pops!

XOXOXO
