Mystery Readers
We've had two more Mystery Readers in the last two weeks! Ben's mom and Jacquelyn's mom surprised the class and read stories.
I have a few parents names left who signed up during Open House. I am going down the list and will contact you soon! If you wish to be a Mystery Reader and did not sign up and would like to, please send me an email!

100 Days Smarter!
Can you believe we've been in school for 100 Days!? We had SO much fun celebrating this milestone. Heres a look into our crazy day filled with 100's of things!
Check out ours hats with 10 groups of 10!
Keontay even dressed up like he was 100 years old!
Thank you to the Bruno family for sending in a 100 snack!
We worked together using 100 cups to build something. Here are the finished products.
We wrote about what we would do with 100 dollars. Some creative answers were "be happy, buy 100 cats and puppies, make it rain money and buy 100 hearts!"
In math we used number grids to count out 100 Fruit Loops and made necklaces!
Two cheers for my tots who are 100 days smarter!!

Book in a Bag
Due to the three day week, there will be no book in a bag. I encourage you to use RazKids or read books form home! Dr. B's reading challenge will continue through February break so keep on reading!!
Valentine Reminders
We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Wednesday with a small, class celebration. If you have signed up to send in items, please be sure to send them to school with your child, or drop them off before 12:00.
If you wish to send in valentines, please be sure there is one for every student. We have 19 children; 10 girls and 9 boys. To make the process of handing out the valentines easier, I ask that you only write your child's name.
I welcome students to wear red or pink on Wednesday!

Polar Animals
This past week, we finished our Non-fiction unit on Polar Animals! We read books about Emperor Penguins and made one!
On Friday, we did a science experiment to help us understand how polar bears and penguins can survive in freezing cold water. First, we put our hands in ice cold water with no protection, then we put our hand into the, "blubber" mitt and got to see how much warmer it was with the blubber!
You'll notice Ava in several pictures. She kept her hand in the ice cold water without the blubber the longest!
Stevie was the Celebrity of the Week! He told his friends his favorite food is cereal and he loves to play with his new car. He brought in legos to share!
Looking Ahead...
