Toys from Home
We are having an issue with sharing toys from home. My classroom rule is there are no toys from home allowed at school. If your child attends an afterschool program, or goes somewhere where they need to bring their own toys, they are to stay in their backpack.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Visitors in Room 210
The month of December has been quite busy! I have invited all families to share a holiday treat or tradition with our class. We have had two families come in. It is not too late if you are interested!
Jacob's mom came to visit to share the story of Hanukkah! We learned about menorahs, read a story, played dreidel, ate munchkins and got chocolate gelt coins! Thank you Mrs. Bueckman!

Romy's dad came in to share the advent calendar; a German tradition they do every year around Christmas. Each student got to reach into the advent bag and see if there was a treat inside!
We also had Dr. Bonasera come in to play a rhyming game with us!
Thank you to all of our visitors!

One Week To Go!
One week to go until our big performance!!
Wednesday, December 12th at 10:00
Roxbury Auditorium
All families are invited!!
Below is the poem our class is performing. Please practice with your child at home!
Snowball
I made myself a snowball
As perfect as can be
I thought I'd keep it as my pet
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head
Then, last night it ran away
But first it wet the bed!

After our four day weekend, we came back to a jam packed week!
On Monday we began our new Reading and Writing Unit- an Author Study on Eric Carle!

We learned the letter Jj and made a J project using jewels.
On Tuesday we took a field trip to the Stamford Palace Theater to see an Eric Carle show. We got to see four different stories performed. We loved it!
The December Family Project went home on Thursday and is due back Friday, December 8th. We will use the gingerbread characters to create stories in school.
Report cards went home on Friday. Please sign and return the report card envelope. If you have questions regarding your child's report card, please bring all of those questions to your scheduled conference.
All conference dates and times were on your child's report card. I will send home a reminder next week.

The last two weeks have been so busy! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We've been working so hard. Here is a glimpse at some skills and projects we've been working on!
We finished the letter Ll by making leaves with tissue paper. We also used leaves to make additions problems. This project is being displayed on our classroom bulletin board.

L is for Leaf!
We have picked up the pace in Room 210 and moved to two letters of a week! We learned about the letter P and L last week. We came up with 63 words that begin with the letter P-Way to go kindergarten!
We went on a leaf hunt to find the most colorful leaves at Roxbury. We collected them and brought them back to the classroom for our L project of the week.
In reading and writing we worked really hard on our first stories written and illustrated by your child! My tots brainstormed, drew pictures, sounded out words, labeled their pictures and edited their work. I am so proud of them! These stories are being shared during morning meeting and displayed in the hallway.
Looking Ahead...

November Family Project
A bunch of turkeys waddled their way out of my classroom yesterday and into my tots mailboxes! Your job is to disguise that turkey so it doesn't get eaten on Thanksgiving! All turkeys are due back to school disguised and decorated by Tuesday, November 13th.
This project is inspired by the children's book, Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano.
