Happy St. Patrick's Day!

After a snow day, delayed opening and two early release days, it didn't leave for much time to learn about St. Patrick's Day! We used Thursday and Friday to squeeze it all in!  Here are some of our special St. Patrick Day centers!

This was a word family match. Each shamrock had a word  on it. They had to read it and  write it  with the  other words that rhymed with it. Such as wig, pig, big.
This was the race to 100! They had to roll the dice and whatever number they rolled, they put an X through that many squares. Whoever got to the end first, won!
My tots practiced the letter sounds, -ch, -sh, -th and -wh with Mrs. D.
At my table, we wrote about who is worth more to us than gold!

This center is ALWAYS an option, reading to self! Nice job, Ellie!
On Friday, we made rainbows in hope we would find the leprechauns pot of gold. When we came back from lunch, we found something a little different. Our classroom was a mess! That sneaky leprechaun came in and messed it all up, left us gold coins and this letter!

We searched high and low to look for his shoe, and all we found was a paper shoe with another note that said, "HAHA, I tricked you!" We are hoping to catch him next year!
The girls were trying to clean up his big mess! :)

To end our day, we graphed Lucky Charms and ate them. Thank you to the Bruno family for sending in yummy shamrock treats that we took home!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Room 210!! (many of our tots are missing, we had a few out sick!!)

Writing

This is the newest writing tool that I've introduced to my tots! We use this to help us remember all the things we need to include when writing. They were so excited to use a dry erase marker to check it off!

Here we are taking our time and forming letters correctly. This is why the March book in a bag journal is focusing on handwriting and drawing pictures.
Please encourage your child to take their time and try their best! I always say, I don't want work from someone who rushed to finish first, I want work where someone tried their best!! :)

On the Loose with Dr. Seuss

This past week was SO much fun! Each day was filled with delicious snacks, silly outfits and Dr. Seuss stories! Lets take a look at our CRAZY week!

On Monday, we wore red and blue in Honor of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish! We had a fishy snack filled with Swedish fish and assorted goldfish. We made a graph to see who wore what color.
We made addition stories using red and blue fish.

On Tuesday, we wore green in honor of Green Eggs and Ham.

Look at all this green!

We wrote about what we would want to eat instead of green eggs and ham, and had two yummy snacks. Our first snack was from the Bruno family- thank you!!

our treat at the end of the day was cookies!

In honor of Wacky Wednesday and Fox in Socks, we wore wacky clothes and crazy socks! We drew pictures of ourselves looking wacky and decorated a sock.

We had a sock parade through the hallways of Roxbury. This is us getting ready for the parade.

  We were so excited!
Look how wacky we were! Michael and Brandon grew mustaches...

Mikey, Christopher, Ellie and Alessia have different colored hair...

Ethan and Brandon's outfits are inside out and backwards...

Even the teachers got wacky! Here is me, Mrs. O'Brien (2nd grade teacher) and Mrs. Barford (pre-k teacher) being silly with our favorite glasses on!

Happy Wacky Wednesday!

In honor or Dr. Seuss's birthday and Cat in the Hat, all students were invited to wear hats to school. Thank you to Mrs. Purpero for making me my awesome hat!

Thank you Mrs. O'Brien for sending in a special and healthy Dr. Seuss snack!

Our last day of Dr. Seuss week was pajama day. We wore our cozy pjs with  hats we made using rhyming words.  We watched the original cartoon of Cat in the Hat too!
What an awesome week!!!
